About the hate crime series

initiated by APA for Progress (www.APAforProgress.org), a coalition of organizations and individuals will launch a series of in-depth, inter-community discussions via live panels (hosted by MOCA) and online forums (hosted by grooted.org) to focus on the roots of hate crime and offer policy and programmatic solutions.

our objective is to collect the grassroots perspective on the causation and history of hate crimes and ultimately strive towards a groundUP solution to the identified problem(s).  more specifically, the topics will include but not limited to:

1)      punishments versus education in dealing with hatred;

2)      contemporary hatred and dealing with diversity; and

3)      hate crime reform and policy, and its effectiveness.

technically speaking, the hate crime series is a collection of community thoughts that is managed by no one, but owned by everyone.  as a result, you will be able to:

(1) publish any thoughts, news, or ideas about hate crimes,

(2) bring discussions and topics to the race and society forum for more active debates about hate crimes, or

(3) post pictures to the hate crime series that you can share or insert into your blog posts.
